Dear 7/8th grade Families,
Happy summer!!! We, Nancy Daniels, Claire Draper, Briana Maguire and Stephen Moore, hope you are enjoying your time off from school and taking advantage of our beautiful state. We have shared many hours together making plans for the upcoming school year! It’s going to be a wonderful year filled with new studies, new friends, and all of the new traditions we have planned here on our Dynamic Design team. We are excited to work with your children this year. Even though it is early in the summer months, we wanted to provide some important dates for you to place on your calendars.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 26th. Further information will be coming out as we get nearer to the beginning of the school year.
To stay up on reading and writing skills, we encourage students to continue reading and writing over the summer. Students will be tested on math facts and other computational skills during the first week of school, so if they practice multiplication and division facts, that would be helpful.
Please check the list of materials below to gather for your child before school begins:
* A single subject spiral notebook for math class
* 2” – 3” 3 ring binder, which will be used for all subjects
* 5 pocket folders to be used throughout the school year* Plenty of pencils, erasers, etc.
* 8 Tabbed dividers for binders
* Hand held pencil sharpener
* Ruler with centimeters and inches
* Set of colored pencils
(We understand that this may be a hardship for some families. Please let us know if you need help with acquiring the above materials.)
Optional materials/supplies:
* Student scissors
* Set of markers
* Basic calculator
* USB Thumb/Flash Drive (Memory stick-for transferring files from home)
We would like to remind all students on the team of the prize winning logo design contest. The design has to be on an 8 ½” x 11” paper in any medium. The design deadline will be Friday, August 28th. Please do not place your name on the front of the design because they will be voted on anonymously.
We hope this letter finds you healthy and refreshed. We are excited about starting our new year together. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
